Oregon City versus Lake Oswego is a rivalry in just about every high school sport, and especially so in boys basketball. The latest polls ranked Pioneers fourth in the state and Lakers seventh last week when I headed down to Lake Oswego for the for the opening round of this year’s home-and-home series. (Remarkably, unranked Clackamas leads the Three Rivers league and has beaten both Oregon City and Lake Oswego this year.)
Unfortunately last Tuesday’s game wasn’t as good as you might have expected. Oregon City sprang to a 7-1 lead and never looked back, finishing on the happy side of a 57-44 decision.
The Trillium Media Services website has a few images from the game, including the one above. At right is one more you won’t find there.
