Last night I did a short portrait session with our in-house supermodel to celebrate her new haircut. I set up some strobes in the kitchen and fired away for a while, never 100% satisfied with the look. I moved the lights here and there, used different modifiers and such, and there are some good shots in there. The best photos, though, came when I turned off the lights altogether. Sometimes it doesn’t get any better than ambient light.
