Portland Urban Iditarod

Every March dozens hardy souls mush teams of sled dogs some 1100 miles through the Alaskan wilderness in an event known as the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

Meanwhile, every March dozens of teams of “dogs” pull “sleds” some four miles through the streets of Portland.

In 2008 I made this audio/visual postcard of the event they call the Urban Iditarod.
