Rates for Unsigned Bands

Individual Musician — $249 + expenses*

• 1½ – 2 hour session on location (up to 2 locales)
• On-line gallery of approx. 50-100 proofs to choose from
• Download 4 high-resolution images, including basic post-production
• Non-transferable rights to use images for personal promotion (credit required)

Group Package (up to 4) — $349 + expenses*

• 2 – 3 hour session on location (up to 2 locales)
• Individual portraits of each member (up to 4) and group shots
• On-line gallery of approx. 100-200 proofs to choose from
• Download 10 high-resolution images, including basic post-production
• Non-transferable rights to use images for personal promotion (credit required)
• Additional members $50 each, includes one extra high-resolution image

Starving Artist Special — $169 + expenses*

• 1-hour session on location
• Individual portraits of each member (up to 4) and group shots
• On-line gallery of approx. 30-60 proofs to choose from
• Download 1 high-resolution images of each member, and 1 group shot (2 images for solo artist)
• Includes basic post-production
• Non-transferable rights to use images for personal promotion (credit required)
• Additional members $40 each, includes one extra high-resolution image

Live performance — $199 + expenses*

• We cover your whole set (one)
• On-line gallery of approx. 30-100 proofs to choose from (depending on length of set)
• Download 12 high-resolution images, including basic post-production
• Non-transferable rights to use images for personal promotion (credit required)

• Share our services for an even better deal: Two bands at one show, $149 each + prorated travel, expenses; Three or more bands at one show, $124 each + prorated travel, expenses

*Travel and expenses

• Travel is included within our home coverage area (basically metro Portland).
• For locations outside our home coverage area, the first 50 miles and 1 hour (round trip) are free. Additional travel is $37.50 per hour plus the current IRS business rate for mileage ($0.50/mile in 2010).
• Parking and tolls (if any) are billed at cost.
• Any additional expenses required for the shoot (e.g. location fees, props) will be discussed in advance and billed at cost + 10%.

Additional information/fees

• All packages include a pre-shoot consultation by email or phone.
• A 50% deposit is required to hold dates. The balance is due at the time of the shoot.
• Digital download of high-resolution JPEG or TIFF files and web-resolution JPEG files is included. Add $29 for images delivered on CD/DVD.
• Additional images from any package are $35 each.
• All images include basic post-production (color correction, cropping, dust-spotting, levels optimization, conversion to 300-dpi JPEG or TIFF files and 72-dpi web-resolution JPEG, and archiving). Additional post-production is billed at $75/hour in ¼-hour increments.

Terms & Conditions — Photographer retains the copyright to all images and grants unlimited usage to the individual(s) in the band for use in web or print applications for self-promotion.

However, this does NOT mean that you can sell the images or prints in any fashion. Record labels and management company usage can be negotiated at any time. In other words, you and your band can use these images. If you are later signed to a label, the label will need to contact the photographer for usage terms if they want to use the images you have.

All subjects will be required to sign photography releases before their shoot.

We prefer that any editorial (publication) requests for your images be placed through us so that we can process the images to meet their specifications, and ensure they credit the images properly. We can meet any deadline for editorial requests you have for magazines, papers, or web sites. Simply call us with the contact information of the person we need to send the image to and we will take care of the rest.

All images will be created and delivered digitally. Delivery by CD/DVD is available for $29.

Payment for services is required in full the day of the shoot. Payment terms are non-negotiable. We accept cash, check, bank check, and PayPal payments. Images are delivered when the check clears the bank. A 3% service fee will be added to PayPal payments to cover the cost of electronic transactions.
